Osteopathy and Men

Sports Injuries

If you suffer an injury while engaging in sport, an osteopath will be able to assist with the healing of the injury and get you back to peak fitness in the shortest time.

Your Osteopath will assist you in dealing with all the common sporting injuries including:

  • Repetitive strain injuries

  • Shoulder, elbow & wrist injuries

  • Back, hip, knee & ankle injuries

  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow

  • Groin or hamstring injuries

Work Related Injuries

Through our normal working day we place a lot of stress through our bodies – spending long hours hunched over a computer, driving long hours to work, the physical demands of a manual job. All these activities can lead to long term or short term discomfort and pain which an osteopath can alleviate. Through our normal working day we place a lot of stress through our bodies – spending long hours hunched over a computer, driving long hours to work, the physical demands of a manual job. All these activities can lead to long term or short term discomfort and pain which an osteopath can alleviate.

Manual workers absorb huge amount of force through their backs, e.g. any repetitive movement through the lower back can weaken the postural muscles which then are susceptible to injury. Working in confined spaces and/or placing our bodies in unusual positions for long periods of time can often lead to lower back, shoulder, neck, knee and hip pain.

Osteopathic treatment is aimed at:

  • reducing pain

  • allowing a progressive return to normal levels of activity

  • advice on rehabilitation

  • providing an exercise regime to remain pain free

Osteopaths will ensure that all muscles and joint are working to their maximum efficiency and can advise on stretching and mobility exercises to keep your body in top condition.
